Hi ,
How much do you play around with the creative controls on your Fuji camera? How often do you use the different settings to vary the look of your images?
All of the X Series cameras have a variety of creative controls that allow you to adjust the color, tone and overall look of your
images, right in-camera. These features let you explore your creativity and experiment with different looks right there on location, without having to go process your photos later when you get home.
The benefit is that you can walk away from your scene with an image you love, that matches your personal vision of the scene, instead of walking away with the guarantee of
more computer time later in order to get an image you love.
I don't know about you, but I spend enough time at my computer, and I love the creative liberation of being able to capture my scenes as I see them in the moment, without having to resort to additional processing in order to get the look I want.
Sometimes, it's better to go with your on-the-spot creative gut, rather than deferring a significant aspect of your creative process until later, when you're far removed from the emotions and experiences you felt when you pressed the shutter and captured your shot in the first place.
Between
the Film Simulations, the Highlight/Shadow Tone and Color controls, and the other fun creative modes, like the Advanced Filters, you have a lot of options for tweaking your scenes.
Whether you want to make subtle adjustments, rescue some shadows or control contrast, or if you want to change the whole
look of your scene, your Fuji camera gives you some pretty powerful tools with which to do this.
There's nothing wrong with processing your photos, if you like that aspect of photography, but I really enjoy the challenge and creative process of nailing my shots in the moment. It reminds me of the approach I had back when I shot film.
