Here's some info about my upcoming X Series guide.

Published: Fri, 07/07/17

Hi ,

I hope you're enjoying the first week of July.

I just wanted to give you a quick update on the new book. In my last email, I told you that I was writing an advanced X Series eBook. It will be a comprehensive guide that picks up where my Fujifilm Tips and Tricks guide left off.

My goal with this book will be to teach you everything your X Series camera is capable of doing and show you each setting, function and control can be used in a real-world setting.

With all of the dials, buttons, switches and menu items, the Fuji cameras are very complicated, I'll give you that. They're also very powerful.

The X-T2 is the most advanced high performance camera I've ever used, and the great thing about the X Series is that most of the features found on the X-T2 are also found in all the other models as well,

However, my guess is that you just haven't figured out what all those function do or how you can use them in real life to make better photographs. And believe me, I can totally understand that.

So let me teach you!

As of this morning, I'm almost done with the first draft and I'm already up to 38,000 words! Like I said, this will be a very comprehensive guide, but I'm putting in a linkable table of contents and tons of other links so it will be very easy to navigate. You'll be able to find anything you're looking for.

My goal is to help you master your X Series camera so you can attain the highest level of creativity and technical ability with your photography.

I want you to be able to look at a scene and say, "Ok, I know exactly what I want to do here," and then know exactly how to make the camera do what you want, as quickly as possible. I want your X Series handling to be second nature.

Knowledge if power.

Normally, I wouldn't spend the first part of summer writing a book, but I want to get this done as quickly as possible so that it can help you get the most out of your photography this summer. Also, I'm just so passionate about photography and the X Series and I love it when I see other people expand their skills and make awesome images.

I'm happy to report that it's going faster than expected and getting closer to completion. I'm hoping to have it done by the middle of July, or shortly thereafter. Stay tuned!

New Seattle Event Announced for August

I also wanted to let you know that I have another event on the schedule. I'll be at Glazer's Camera in Seattle on Saturday, August 26, teaching two different classes, and maybe even leading a Photo Walk that evening. We're still working out details.

The first one will be "Get to know your X Series Cameras" intro class, designed for people who are new to or are curious about the Fujifilm system.

The second is a 3-hour "Advanced X Series" class, designed to go more in depth and teach you how to get maximum performance out of your Fujifilm camera. It will be kind of like the book, but in person. Actually my book will be an excellent companion to both of these classes.

Whether you attend one or both sessions  I hope to see you there! Watch for details about this event on my site and also on the Glazer's Camera website.
