The new 5th generation X Series cameras, the X-H2, X-H2S and the X-T5, all have a brand new feature called SUBJECT DETECT AF, which is programeed to recognzie certain types of subjects, like animals, birds, cars, motorcycles,
bikes, trains and airplanes.
When you enable this setting and choose a subject type, the camera will automatically acquire and track if it sees that kind of subject. It basically works like FACE DETECTION, and in my limted tests with this feature, it works extremely well.
Even if you don't have one of the new 5th gen models, the new SUBJECT DETECT AF is likley to filter down into future X Series models, so watching this
video will give you an idea of what may come in your own shooting future.
