As July speeds on, I slowly continue to gain more flexibility in my shoulder. Now 9 weeks post surgery, I still can't do most of my "regular" activities or put weight on it, but I'm able to raise my arm a little bit higher. Still a long way to go, but I'm getting outside walking almost every
day, averaging 30-40 miles each week and keeping myself busy. Here's this week's roundup of fun photography tutorials, tidbits and special exclusive deals that are just for you as a faithful subscriber! MY MIRRORLESS EXPOSURE VIDEO SERIES These three videos below outline the fundamental way that I shoot and the methods I use to capture my images, even in tricky lighting situations.
Even if you've seen these before, it's worth brushing up, because the tips in here can help make you a more efficient shooter. Tamron Lenses for FUJIFILM Tamron now has a line of FUJIFILM Mount lenses for the X Series, and some of you have been asking me what I think of them. I haven't had the chance to shoot in the field with these
new lenses yet, but I have checked them out in person and can definitely recommend any one of them as very good and viable options for use on your X Series body. I'm impressed with their build quality and styling, and think that Tamron has done a great job expanding the offerings for us Fuji shooters with their new lenses. Here are the two that I'm most excited about. Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 The Tamron 11-16mm f/2.8 is a compact, fast fixed aperture ultra wide angle zoom lens with a close focus distance of only 5.9 inches and 1:4 macro capabilities. This makes it a great choice for capturing grand scenes, environmental portraits, location and detail type photos. It also
has a fast, smooth stepping AF motor that makes it reliable performer for both stills and video. Weight is only 11.8 ounces. Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 The Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 is a fast fixed aperture stabilized zoom lens with a relatively compact size that offers 1:4 macro capabilities. The focal length, which is comparable in 35mm terms to a 28-105mm, gives a very workable range for shooting wide angle scenes all the way to short
telephoto, which makes it highly versatile for a broad range of scenes in a single lens that only weighs 1.2 lbs. If you like doing short to mid-distance photography, this is a great single-lens option for landscapes, travel, portraits, details, etc... and with a quiet AF motor and stabilizing mechanism, it
performs great for both stills and video. Save 40% On My Signature Creative Course Right now, I'm offering you an exclusive 40% discount on my online course, Photography On The Brain with code CREATE40OFF. In this 30-lesson course,
