Lots of exciting stuff happened this week, which I'm excited to tell you about, but first I'd like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who has sent me positive healing vibes. I'm almost 3 weeks post surgery, and although I still have a long road ahead of me, I'm walking a few miles every day, resting a lot, and keeping busy. Now onto the good stuff! New Fujifilm camera: The X-S20 This week Fujifilm announced the latest X Series camera, the
X-S20. On this new model, Fuji has paired the 26 megapixel X Trans CMOS 4 sensor what is the new X-Processor 5 that's found on all the new 5th gen models. This gives it very fast auto focus, very high video specs, and improved image quality. It also has 5-Axis in body stabilization. With a very small form factor, it
brings a lot of power tables still and video creators, very good performance, long battery life, and it even can be used with the new cooling fan that was introduced with the X-H series modeled last year. This camera is a fantastic upgrade to the X-S10, and it has some unique features that are designed with video shooters in mind. And, for still photographers, it
has all the film simulations another creative settings, as well as the new improved auto focus and subject detect AF system, which allows you to track moving subject with even more accuracy. It's basically a tiny little powerhouse. It ships on June 29, but you can pre-order the camera here. New Fujifilm lens – XF 8mm f/3.5 WR This week, FUJIFILM also announced the new XF 8mm f/3.5 ultra wide angle lens. It offers an exceptionally wide view with minimal distortion, in a weather sealed, and relatively compact size. With greater than 120° view angle, this lens features internal focusing, which makes it suitable for both stilld and video, it's design to work with the latest 40 megapixel sensor cameras, and only weighs 7.6
ounces. This is an awesome lens for a wide variety of creative photography situations, and allows you to capture things like grand landscapes and accentuate your foreground subject for maximum impact. I am really excited to check
this lens out, but in the meantime you can see what my friend and fellow X-Photographer Seth Hughes has done with it during his initial testing session. This one also ships on June 29 but you can pre-order here. Brand New Re-designed Fujifilm XApp! Fujifilm just released a brand new app for X/GFX cameras, that offers
better connectivity, easier use, more stable performance, and even more features than the previous Camera Remote app. The new Fujifilm XApp has been totally redesigned, and allows for wireless image transfer, remote control/live view shooting, backup/restore of your camera settings, and a new timeline/activity section. The new app works on all Bluetooth enabled Fuji cameras, although you need to make sure that you're running the latest firmware on your camera. This will require you to update the firmware one last time using the regular
method, either from an SD card, or from the old Camera Remote app, which still works on all models as well. From then on in the future, you can update your firmware right from the new app. And while we're on the subject of firmware, the latest firmware for the X-T5 and X-H2 adds increased subject detection focus enhancement, and improved dynamic AF tracking on moving subjects. You can find the new Fujifilm X app from the iOS and Android stores,
and you can visit this page for more information. Left Hand Coaching - Special Discount! Although I have a limited mobility right now, I'm still doing one-handed personal coaching sessions! With that in mind, I'd like to offer you a special 20% off discount code that's good through June and July. (The actual session doesn't need to be held
during that time, you can purchase now and we can schedule the session for a later date if you wish.) If you'd like to get some personal 1:1 instruction from me, or if you need help setting up your camera, (I did this for someone yesterday), advice on how to use specific techniques or capture a specific type of subject, or if you just want
to have a fun informative chat with me and learn anything you want about photography, then click here to book an hour long session, and use code LEFTHAND20 to get your special exclusive discount. Also, if you haven't checked out my online course, Mastering the Fujifilm Autofocus System, this is an excellent way to give your photography a huge boost for the summer months ahead. Let me help you better understand your Fuji camera and give you the necessary skills needed to improve your technique, so that you can get the images that YOU want, even
with the most challenging types of subjects. I feel this course is essential for any Fuji shooter, but don't just take my word for it, you can read what others have
said about the course as well. One thing to note, if you enroll in the AF course, you have the option to add a one-hour 1:1 coaching session for 25% off on the check out page. Seattle Next Weekend, June 10! My event at Kenmore Camera in Seattle is on June 10, which coincides with their summer sale. This free presentation is called Using Different Lenses in Your Outdoor Photography, and I'll have a lot of brand new images to illustrate. If
you're in or near the Seattle area, then be sure to register and come say hi! And besides getting to see me in a sling for the first time ever, I will have a very special surprise to show everyone who comes to that event!
