Hi
I hope you're staying safe and healthy right now and keeping yourself at least somewhat sane during this very weird time in our history.
Just a quick note to remind you just how vital it is for us to stay actively engaged in our creative hobbies. I'm a firm believer that creativity is one of the most fundamental traits that makes us human, and more than anything else, its the most lasting thing that helps make for a better world.
Consider this: The Black Plague occurred during the Pre-Reinassance period, and despite the fact that it devastated the populations of Europe and Asia, during this time, a number of notable painters like Giotto, continued to pioneer the style of "Figurative Realism. It
was this style that led to the incredible artistic expansion of the High Renaissance period, the likes of which the world has rarely, if ever seen since that time.
Now, I'm not saying that we're all going to change the world with our nature and action photographs, but creativity does keep us sane, it keeps our brains active, and it provides comfort to others during times of stress. And whether we're creating or absorbing art, the process allows us to step back and gain different perspective on the world and our lives; perspective that can affect our own life, and in some cases,
yes, affect the world, or at least our own small circles.
So, I encourage you to stay creative right now, even if you're not doing your "regular" things. It doesn't even have to be photography. Do whatever inspires you: play instruments, practice reading music, draw & sketch, learn to paint watercolors, garden, join the rest of the internet and try your hand at baking sourdough bread.
Anything to keep you motivated, occupied and distracted from the news. Besides that, doing different activities make us more well-rounded humans.
Although this is not something I normally do in my photos, you can have a lot of fun with the new AI Sky tool, and fun is what we need right now, more than anything else.
So whatever you do, take good care, stay safe and thanks for reading.
