Hi ,
As photographers, when we look for subject matter, our eyes often hone in on scenes that contain a wide mix of colors and tones. We're especially drawn to the strong visual appeal of contrasting colors, and we often respond by capturing these scenes in our imagery.
But what happens if you remove the element of color contrast and create photos that only show one single color, or only a series of closely related hues? The visual effect can be quite intriguing, because, like black and white, it forces us to concentrate solely on the elements of shape, shadow, and story.
I find this to be a really fun creative challenge, so I hope my lesson inspires you to explore this technique as well. It's something that doesn't require any special gear, just your eyes and your own compositional ideas.
