Hi ,
A lot has changed in the past two weeks, I went from filming racers in the Iditarod Trail Invitational race here in remote Alaska, to riding my bike on empty dirt roads in Oklahoma, to... well... this.
There's obviously a lot of uncertainty right now in our world, and so I just wanted to give you a quick update, and express my hope that everything and everyone is ok on your end.
Having traveled to the Lower 48 for few days, we managed to fly back to Anchorage with no trouble, and are now planning to do our part and hunker down by ourselves for a couple weeks. We've got our fat bikes, plenty of pizza flour, Netflix, musical instruments, games, and other things to keep us busy. And the little Cessna. Shooting aerials qualifies as social distancing, right? So do solitary
walks, hikes and bike rides in the outdoors; keep that in mind.
With nothing but time and no social commitments on my immediate calendar, I'll keep writing blog posts, working on my website, shooting video lessons and continuing to
keep the home office buzzing. In other words, I'll keep doing what I usually do, so that if you do find time for photography, I'll be here.
It seems as if we've got some rocky times ahead, but our passions, hobbies, creativity and enjoying art can help keep us sane during the chaos. If you find that it helps you to stay grounded by immersing yourself in your own creativity endeavors, or in the works of others, then I encourage you to keep exploring in whatever small chunks you find available or desirable.
And if you do want to reach out, share, ask questions or just let me know how you're doing, feel free to drop a line. As always, I'm here.
Very best wishes to you and your own circles during this rather inconvenient and unplanned episode. And of course, stay safe and stay healthy.
