I'm excited to announced my brand new
One-Day Alaska Brown Bear Photo Workshops for Summer, 2014 with Through The
Lens Alaska, LLC.
These exclusive workshops will run a handful of days from July through September, and they offer you unparalleled opportunity to photograph coastal Alaska brown bears in their natural environment. Each trip is limited to only four people, so you can count on extremely personal interaction with me as your personal photography guide and instructor.
Also, with such a small group, you won't have to fight for the best vantage
points. We're talking no crowded viewing platforms, no lottery, no having to stand behind the pros with the really big tripods. No, with these photo tours, we'll be right down on the beach with the animals. I've shot here and have watched bears walk right by me about 20 or 30 feet away and it's truly amazing! It's also safe, because we're in a group and besides, the bears are far more interested in digging for clams, eating grasses, frolicking on the beach and fishing for salmon if the run is
in at that time.
The trip beings with a short bush flight from Anchorage across the Cook Inlet over to Lake Clark National Park. There, we'll land right on the beach and meet up with our naturalist guide, who will brief us and take us safely through the park by ATV so we can photograph these magnificent animals from a very close but safe distance as they roam the beach and do what bears do in the summertime.
I guarantee, you will be amazed at
the kinds of photos that you can bring back, even with regular zoom lenses. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and it's much more affordable and easier to schedule than many of the longer bear tours. Plus, you'll have me right there alongside to give you photography tips and advice right on location!
These trips are sure to fill up, so if your summer plans include a trip to Alaska,
click here to see more info and reserve your spot. Even if you're already planning on doing other things in Alaska, we've set up these workshops so that you can schedule one on the front or tail end of your travel itinerary.
Or, if you just don't have time for a full day workshop, you can always join me for an evening
Sunset Photo Safari workshop, where we'll chase the good light throughout the extended daylight hours that Anchorage has to offer in the summertime.
I hope to see you on one of these trips, and I hope you're looking forward to a great summer. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
