Hi ,
Just a quick email - I have a couple of corrections from yesterday's Dan Bailey Photo Newsletter.
First of all, after hitting send, was notified by another reader that Capture One Pro 7 is back up to full price on the PhaseOne website. However, it's
still half price at B&H Photo until July 5.
You can use this purchase link to buy the program for only $149, you'll receive a license code to download and activate the software from the PhaseOne site.
As I mentioned,
Capture One does a
much better job with the Fuji RAW files than Lightroom and Photoshop, so if you use the X cameras, like the X100S, X-T1, X-E2 or any of the others, I highly recommend taking a look at this program.
I've even tried converting some Nikon files and even those look better.
If that price is out
of your budget right now, then you might
consider Capture One 7 Express. It only costs $99 and it has the exact same RAW converter as the pro version, it just lacks a few features like tethering, using sessions and local adjustments. However, it's got everything you need to produce beautiful, sharp, crisp images that pop with color and
clarity.
Finally, I gave you the wrong link yesterday for how to incorporate RAW converters like Capture One and
Iridient Developer into a Lightroom workflow.
The method I use to get straight RAW files from Lightroom to another RAW converter and
then back to LR back after you process them in the other software requires a plugin called Open Directly and the Auto Import function in Lightroom.
Sorry for any confusion.
Have a great weekend!
