Hi ,
Did you make it out to watch the Super Moon the other night? Hopefully the skies were clear for you. I found myself in southern California in the midst of a mini-SoCal presentation tour, so I was able to see the big moon rise on Sunday night from Los Angeles, and Monday night from San Diego.
Unfortunately, I didn't have my big lens with me on Sunday night, and so I had to settle for a somewhat distant shot. However, I was fully prepared on Monday night, and even though it was considerably darker, I managed to get a really cool photo of the moon rise over downtown San Diego. If you missed it, don't worry, you'll get another chance to see the Super Moon in about 60 years.
I'm sharing three of my favorite from the weekend. The top was shot with the 90mm, the two bottom images were shot with my 100-400mm lens.
Did you get any great Super Moon shots? I'd love to see, feel free to share them with me.
Luminar - A Brand New Photo Editing App for Mac
|
This week, Macphun released Lunimar, a brand new photo editing app for Mac. Luminar offers pro-quality performance in
a beautiful, easy-to-use interface. It runs standalone, or as a plugin for Lightroom and Photoshop.
I've been using Luminar for a few days now, and I'm quite impressed. That's saying a lot, since I'm pretty picky about my software; I like to keep things simple. I don't use any of the popular plugins or third party apps that are on the market, but
I really like this.
As a standalone, Luminar is a very powerful, yet friendly program that doesn't have a steep learning curve like most other photo software. It has a beautiful user interface that's extremely easy to navigate, and it's totally customizable. You can change the workspace to suit your needs or style, depending on the
kind of photo you're working on, or what mood you're in, and you can even save multiple workspaces.
The nice thing is that you can use Luminar in a way that matches your skill level or your time frame. If you want to go easy and fast, you can use the wide range of built-in presets and creative filters, and if you want to do more of the
adjustments yourself, you have a huge number of creative controls at your disposal.
With a host of professional-quality features and tools, and full RAW support, even for the Fuji X-Trans sensor cameras, Luminar looks like a great option for photographers of all levels and styles. Best part: no subscriptions. It only costs $59.
Macphun makes a number of very highly rated photography apps, and they did a great job with Luminar. If you want to simplify your workflow with a really fun program that's easy to use, or if you're
looking for an alternative to LR or PS, I highly recommend taking a look at what Luminar can do.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and if you live in the US, then I'd like to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. :)
