Today is a very special day...
Exactly 33 years ago today, on February 2, 1990, I walked into Bromfield Camera in downtown Boston and purchased my first "real camera," a sleek, sexy chrome body Nikon FM2 and 50mm f/1.4 lens.
At the time, I had absolutely no idea of the immense, world-bending significance that moment held for me. What seemed like a simple transaction ultimately set me on a path that would define the rest of my entire life for the next three-plus decades.
It's turned out to be quite an amazing adventure, and if you're one of my longtime followers, then you've been with me for a significant chunk of this journey. I've been blogging for 16 years, so if you're one of my earliest readers, that's almost half!
Back in 2020, I wrote a 30-year retrospective celebrating my three decades as a photographer. It's a really fun read, and it includes a few of my very first photos
shot with that old Nikon, a bit of history, and even a self-portrait shot back in 1990.
Check out the post if you want to see where I came from, or maybe see what's possible for you if you're just starting out as a photographer.
Either way, I hope you enjoy it. As always, thanks so much for your support, and happy shooting!
